DISCLAIMER: This is going to be a long list and will take me a while to update. As I find more sites that are useful I will post them here. If you are looking for something in particular and it's not shown, just send me an email. Some of these links are sponsored. It means that I get a percentage if you click and purchase (I have to pay the bills somehow). So if you are planning on purchasing, I appreciate you clicking on the appropriate link. Although some are sponsored, none of my recommendations are based on this. I truly use all of the websites listed.
Recommended Stores
Bhphoto.com is probably the most famous photography store on the planet. Great prices, a huge selection and second to none customer service makes this one of my favorites.
Adorama.com is right next to bhphoto, both in location and ratings. Huge selections, great customer service and low prices makes this a very good place to shop. I check both adorama and bhphoto first, whoever has it in stock gets my business.
Amazon.com is a great place to preorder. They seem to always have stuff available for preorder way before anyone else does. Check it out first if you are looking for something that is not available yet.
They have amazing customer service and various locations throughout the US. Nothing beats brick in mortar!!
Buy.com offers really good deals on just about anything. They also do a lot of promotions with Paypal and Google Checkout. I purchase a lot of stuff from them.
Although they do not offer an e-store like any of the other links, they are probably the best photography store on EBAY.com. If Ebay isn't your thing or you don't see what you want on Ebay you can call them direct. I have purchased many "DEMO" (fancy word for refurbished) items from them. I highly recommend purchasing "DEMO" when you want to save a couple bucks. They back their items with a full 1 year warranty, not a 90 day one like most places. The best part is that I can tell you from experience that the warranty extension does work. I sent in a D70 Demo to Nikon to be repaired for a faulty shutter button after 10 months of heavy use (25,000 photos) and Nikon fixed it at no charge.
Ok, maybe not always the safest place to buy, but I have to admit that I love it. As long as you are careful you should be alright. Be a smart consumer and you'll get some great deals, my only words of advice are...NO WESTERN UNION!!
Newegg.com = cheap stuff. They have almost every electronic gadget known to man. I purchase almost all of my memory cards from them.
KEH.COM very cool website where you can purchase new or used. You can even sell them your gear. What makes it a great website is that their rating for used equipment is stricter than anything you or I can every come up with. Their "bargain" classification is pretty much an "excellent" on Ebay. Check them out if you're looking to buy used gear. I always check them first, then I go to Ebay.
These are my favorites, I'm sure there are a million more and if you'd like to see them linked, just send me an email. The most important thing is to follow a simple rule: If it's too good to be true...well you know the rest.
Don't get scammed, check around before you buy. Resellerrating.com is a great place, although I do believe that it is being taken over by hackers and the reviews are not as accurate anymore.
If you have to call back to confirm your order, it's probably a scam. As soon as you call to confirm they will probably try to sell you a $400.00 battery or better yet a $300.00 512MB memory card...don't buy into it. The USA models do come with battery, charger, strap, instructions, warranty etc.
Peace of mind is priceless, so if you want it, click on any of the links above and order away!

Recommended Photography Websites
These are the big guys, some of the best websites that I have found online. These are all in my favorites and I check them regularly. If you have one that I should know about, email me and I'll check it out.
dpreview.com is probably the "king" of all photography review websites. Phil's reviews are great and extremely informative, albeit not always the first one on the block, but definitely the most anticipated. The forums are also a great place to chat about almost anything. If you do wonder into forum land, try not to take it too seriously as there are some that hide behind that monitor and keyboard and dish out very...well not very nice comments. My only suggestion is to use the search tool before entering the forum.
photo.net is where you will find anything and everything about photography. From gallery's to tips. If you want to learn, this is definitely the place to go. I really like this website because it is very easy to read and very well organized. The have a ton of information at your fingertips.
imaging resource is a great website for general photography information. I like them because they update photography information extremely quickly. As soon as information is available, their website is updated. Very important if you like to stay on top of the latest news.
Yes, I shoot Nikon so I'm being a little bias here. Even if you're not a Nikon shooter, it's a great website. They have a nikonians store that sells very high quality equipment. I've never purchased from them, but I've heard many good things. Check them out even if you are part of the other teams.
Without a doubt a monster of a website when it comes to essay's, video's and any other how-to you can imagine. These guys are great! I have spent many long nights reading through the hundreds of pages of extremely important information they offer. They also sell video's and magazines and anything else you can think of. Check them out, especially if you're just starting out.
Great website dedicated to...well nature photographers. They have some really useful information in their forums. If you want great outdoor pictures, this is the place to go. They also have a great selection of essay's.
The links below are to websites that I highly recommend. They are all owned by individuals. They might not be visited as much as the other guys, but they are just as useful...some would say even more so.
Again, I'm a Nikon shooter so I apologize for being bias. Thom Hogan has in my opinion (I'm sure you'll find a lot more people that will agree with me) has the best Nikon guides available. If you just purchased a Nikon and you want to really learn how to use the camera, buy one of Thom's guides. Without a doubt, one of the most valuable books you will every buy.
He also has a lot of information for you non-Nikon shooters, no guides, but other useful information such as tripod recommendations and other stuff like that.
Another great website. It has reviews, forums, photoshop actions and some pretty good articles. You can even buy and sell gear in the forum.
Bjørn Rørslett is a professional Nature Photographer. His website offers a plethora of information. I think he is the only person to have tested almost every Nikon lens ever made.
Ken Rockwell, he might not be the most liked person on many of these forums, but he does have a lot of really good information on his website. Look through it and you'll find some pretty interesting articles. There are also some that you could questions the accuracy, but he does state that his site is just for entertainment purposes.
